said customers with cellphones now could start using them after a flight attendant allowed it upon landing and during taxi to and from the gate. Previously, customers could use their wireless phones only until the aircraft doors closed. Southwest said it had conducted required FAA testing to ensure that cellphones didn’t interfere with ground navigation equipment during taxiing. The airline said the test showed no problems with avionics or ground-based systems.
