ITC Web Site Now Contains World Customs Organization Documents
The International Trade Commission (ITC) has recently added certain documents of the World Customs Organization (WCO) to its Web site.

(The WCO is an independent intergovernmental body that works in close cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO). Its mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Customs administrations, develop and maintain instruments for the standardization and simplification of Customs procedures, etc. Currently, the WCO has 162 member countries.)
The WCO documents available on the ITC's Website are in .pdf format, are grouped by topic, and within each group are listed in WCO document number order. The title of each document is also provided.
ITC sources state that this resource is primarily of value to those searching by WCO document number, as there is no search engine. The ITC adds that these WCO documents are provided for reference purposes only.
The WCO documents on the ITC's Web site are grouped as follows:
General interest, such as certain Harmonized System (HS) classification opinions, certain notes for contracting parties to the HS Convention, etc.;
Harmonized System Committee (HSC), such as executive summaries for certain sessions of the HSC, certain classification opinions, etc.;
Review Sub-Committee (RSC), such as amendments and possible amendments to certain chapters, headings, etc.; and
Scientific Sub-Committee (SSC), such as classification of certain goods, possible amendments to certain chapters, headings, etc.
(Some of the documents are available in either English and/or French.)
