APHIS Lists BSE and Avian Flu Trade Ban Status for U.S. Exports to Certain Countries
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service's (APHIS') Web site contains tables which list information on trade bans imposed by foreign countries on U.S. exports due to Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) and avian influenza (avian flu).

These lists contain country-specific information such as when or if a ban has gone into effect, the scope of the ban, the geographical range to which the ban applies, etc.
APHIS' BSE Trade Ban Status List Contains Information for 58 Countries
APHIS' BSE trade ban status list contains information for 58 countries, though not all of these countries currently have bans in place. According to this list, the actions taken by countries include (partial list): bans on various U.S. exports (e.g. ruminants, ruminant products, etc.), the suspension of beef import permits, specific requirements for products originating in Washington State, etc. (See ITT's Online Archives or 01/07/04 news, 04010720, for earlier BP summary of BSE-related trade bans due to the December 2003 discovery of BSE in a Washington State cow.)
Avian Flu Trade Ban Status List Contains Information for 55 Countries
APHIS' avian flu trade ban status list contains information for 55 countries, though not all of these countries currently have bans in place. According to this list, actions taken by countries include (partial list): bans of poultry, poultry meat, poultry products and byproducts, eggs, cancellation of certain import permits, etc. (See ITT's Online Archives or 03/01/04 news, 04030120, for earlier BP summary of avian influenza-related trade bans due to the February 2004 discovery of a highly pathogenic strain of avian flu in a Texas chicken flock.)
