2. U.S., Chile Schedule Two Meetings on Environmental Affairs & Cooperation
The State Department has issued a public notice stating that the U.S. and Chile intended to hold the first meeting of the U.S.-Chile Environment Affairs Council in Santiago, Chile on July 22, 2004. Immediately following this meeting, the U.S.-Chile Joint Commission for Environmental Cooperation was scheduled to hold its inaugural meeting. 3. DOL Requests Information on Certain Countries' Efforts to Eliminate Worst Forms of Child Labor
The Department of Labor's (DOL's) Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) has issued a notice requesting information for use in preparation of an annual report on certain trade beneficiary countries' implementation of international commitments to eliminate the worst forms of child labor. Submitters of information are requested to provide two copies of their written submissions by 5 p.m. on August 13, 2004. 4. APHIS Interim Rule on Imports of Steers/Spayed Heifers with Horn Growth
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has issued an interim rule, effective August 19, 2004, that amends 9 CFR Part 93 to require that steers and spayed heifers with any evidence of horn growth that are entering the U.S. meet the same tuberculosis testing requirements as sexually intact animals entering the U.S. Comments are due on or before September 20, 2004. 5. ITA Solicits Information for Public Hearing Relating to Drug Pricing Study
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice stating that it is soliciting information for a public hearing it will hold on August 3, 2004, relating to a study of international drug pricing, mandated by section 1123 of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003. The ITA is requesting intent to testify and written testimony by August 2, 2004; however, comments will be accepted until August 3, 2004.
