AD/CV: Bangladesh, China & Pakistan Cotton Shop Towels
Effective February 17, 2005, the International Trade Administration (ITA) announced that it is revoking the antidumping (AD) duty orders on cotton shop towels from Bangladesh and China, as well as the countervailing (CV) duty order on such merchandise from Pakistan. The ITA states that it is revoking these orders as no domestic interested parties responded to the ITA's notice initiating these five-year sunset reviews by the applicable deadline.

The ITA states that it will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to terminate the suspension of liquidation and AD or CV duty deposit requirements for subject merchandise with a time of entry on or after February 17, 2005. The ITA explains that entries of subject merchandise with a time of entry prior to February 17, 2005 will continue to be subject to suspension of liquidation and AD or CV duty deposit requirements.
The ITA adds that it will complete any pending administrative reviews of these AD and CV duty orders and will conduct administrative reviews of subject merchandise entered prior to February 17, 2005 in response to appropriately filed requests for review.
(See ITA's notice for more information, including the scope of the orders, etc. See ITT's Online Archives or 01/04/05 news, 05010440, for BP summary of the ITA and ITC initiation of these five-year sunset reviews.)
