ITC to Report on Economic Impact of Chile, Singapore, & Australia FTAs
As required under 19 USC 3803(c)(3)(B), the ITC must submit a report to Congress not later than June 1, 2005 that contains a review and analysis of the economic impact on the U.S. of all trade agreements implemented between the date of enactment of the Trade Act of 2002 (i.e., August 6, 2002), which contained the trade promotion authority (TPA) provisions, and the date on which the President decides to seek an extension of TPA procedures (i.e., March 30, 2005).
According to the ITC, the agreements implemented within this time period are the free trade agreements (FTAs) with Chile, Singapore, and Australia.
Public Hearing to Be Held on April 27, 2005, Etc.
The ITC states that a public hearing in connection with this investigation will be held in Washington, DC on April 27, 2005. In lieu of or in addition to participating in the hearing, interested parties should submit pre-hearing briefs/statements by April 20, 2005 and post-hearing briefs/statements by May 2, 2005.
