AD/CV: Italy and Japan Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel

Effective March 14, 2006, the International Trade Administration (ITA) is revoking the antidumping (AD) duty orders on grain-oriented electrical steel from Italy and Japan and the countervailing (CV) duty order on grain-oriented electrical steel from Italy because the ITA found that the domestic interested parties did not participate in the sunset reviews on these three orders.

The ITA states that it will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to terminate the suspension of liquidation of the merchandise subject to these orders with a time of entry on or after March 14, 2006.

The ITA notes that entries of subject merchandise prior to March 14, 2006, will continue to be subject to suspension of liquidation and AD/CV duty deposit requirements. In addition, the ITA adds that it will complete any pending administrative reviews of these AD and CV duty orders and will conduct administrative reviews of subject merchandise entered prior to March 14, 2006, in response to appropriately filed requests for review.

(See ITA notice for more information, including the scope of the orders, etc. See ITT's Online Archives or 02/03/06 news, 06020330, for BP summary of the ITA's automatic initiation of the five-year sunset reviews for these AD/CV duty orders.)
