1. Various Postings to CBP's Web Site
Commissioner Basham meets with directors of field offices in El Paso. CBP has issued a press release announcing that Commissioner Basham traveled to El Paso, Texas to meet with the directors of the nation's 20 field offices, the first time since CBP's formation in 2003 that such a meeting was held outside of Washington D.C. Basham said the meetings were focused on improving anti-terror operations at all land and sea ports. CBP schedule changes for South Florida marinas. CBP has issued a press release on the South Florida marinas stating that, among other things, effective July 31, 2006, the following marinas will be staffed by CBP officers on Sundays only: Miami Beach Marina, Lauderdale Marina, Sailfish Marina (in Stuart), and Sailfish Marina (on Singer Island). CBP offers tips for summer Mexican border travel. CBP has made available on its Web site information and tips for summer Mexican border travel. CBP also wants to remind the traveling public that there are a number of steps cross-border travelers can employ to make entry into the U.S. as quick and safe as possible.
