1. Various Postings to CBP's Web Site

SENTRI information. CBP has posted to its Web site information on the Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI), which is a land border management process that provides expedited CBP processing for pre-approved, low-risk travelers. This July 14, 2006 posting includes information on qualifying for SENTRI participation, the SENTRI enrollment process, how to apply, etc. (SENTRI posting, dated 07/14/06 available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/frequent_traveler/sentri.xml)

Fraudulent document detection & traveler identification security measures. CBP has posted to its Web site a document on its fraudulent document detection and traveler security measures. Among other things, this document states that the U.S. is considering a proposed passport alternative - the PASS card - during the proposed January 1, 2007 and January 1, 2008 two-pronged implementation of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI). (CBP document, dated 08/02/06, available at http://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/newsroom/fact_sheets/travel/frad_doc_detect.ctt/frad_doc_detect.doc)

User fee decals and transponders for commercial vehicles, private aircraft, and private vessels. A CBP document, which recently appeared under the "What's New" section of its Web site, entitled "User Fee Decals and Transponders," covers CBP's collection of user fees on incoming commercial vehicles, private aircraft, and private vessels. (CBP document, posted 12/27/06, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/pleasure_boats/user_fee/user_fee_decal.xml)

CBP official emergency check-in procedures for employees. CBP has posted to its Web site an official emergency announcement (no emergency at present) explaining that, in addition to existing local reporting procedures and policies, it has developed a supplemental emergency incident toll-free number and employee check-in Web site for employees in the case of a "significant incident." CBP states that through these procedures and systems, CBP employees are able to check-in, provide current contact information and report their availability to work. (CBP announcement, undated, http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/newsroom/highlights/emergency_checkin_2.xml)

2. Miscellaneous CBP Messages on AD and CV Duty Actions

CBP has issued messages on a number of antidumping (AD) and countervailing (CV) duty actions, many of which (marked by an * in the action column) were previously published in the Federal Register by the International Trade Administration (ITA) and summarized in International Trade Today.

(The CBP messages marked with an * cover much of the same information as the ITA notices; however, CBP's messages often list the 10-character case number specific to each listed company(s). ITA notices only list the 7-character master case number. In addition, sometimes the master case number for CBP purposes (in parentheses, below, where applicable) differs from the ITA master case number.)

Temporary restraining order issued
