Assessment Instructions
The ITA states that it will issue appropriate assessment instructions directly to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within 15 days of September 20, 2006.
Additionally, the ITA states it has calculated importer-specific duty assessment rates for subject merchandise, which according to trade sources, may differ significantly from the AD cash deposit rate listed above (which is a weighted average).
1 A recent law (Public Law 109-280) has suspended the option that allows importers to post bond for estimated AD or countervailing (CV) duties until the completion of a new shipper review (excluding new shipper reviews involving goods of Canada or Mexico). (See ITT's Online Archives or 08/22/06 news, 06082205, for BP summary of the CBP message announcing the suspension of bonding privileges retroactive to April 1, 2006 through June 30, 2009.)
(See ITA notice for more information, including the scope of the order, etc. See ITT's Online Archives or 07/18/06 news, 06071850, for BP summary of the preliminary results of this AD duty new shipper review.)
