1. Various Postings to CBP's Web Site

Deputy Commissioner describes CBP's border security strategy. CBP has posted CBP Deputy Commissioner Jayson Ahern's interview with Federal News Radio. In the interview, Ahern describes what CBP is doing to secure U.S. borders. Ahern also responds to a recent Government Accountability Office report that found certain lands did not seem to be under adequate surveillance by CBP. He notes that the agency has a comprehensive plan in place that draws on personnel, tactical infrastructure, and technology. FAST participant caught with marijuana shipment. CBP has issued a press release announcing that officers at the San Ysidro port of entry arrested a man registered to participate in the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program, after they discovered marijuana, valued at more than $200,000, in the vehicle he was driving. NEXUS expands to North Dakota border Port of Entry. CBP has issued a press release announcing the expansion of the NEXUS program to the Pembina, North Dakota Port of Entry. The NEXUS Enrollment Center in Pembina opened on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 and the hours of operation for the enrollment center are 8 A.M. - 4 P.M. Monday thru Friday. 2. Miscellaneous CBP Messages on AD and CV Duty Actions

The antidumping and countervailing messages U.S. Customs Border and Protection issues on behalf of the International Trade Administration are now only available on CBP's Web site at http://addcvd.cbp.gov. AD and CV ABI administrative messages are no longer issued.
