CBP CSMS Messages and Web Postings

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted to its Unified Business Resumption Messaging Web site messages providing a port status update in the wake of Hurricane Ike. According to CBP the following ports are closed as of 6:30 p.m. EST on September 14, 2008: Freeport, Galveston, Texas City, Houston, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Lake Charles, and Point Comfort. CBP also posted an alert as of 6:30 p.m. EST on September 14, 2008 on the current port conditions due to Ike. In addition, CBP announced mass migration plans for Hurricane Ike. 2. Port of Lake Charles Issued a Snow Day for September 12th

CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing that a snow day has been issued for the port of Lake Charles, Louisiana (Port Code 2017) for Friday, September 12, 2008. The antidumping and countervailing messages U.S. Customs Border and Protection issues on behalf of the International Trade Administration are now only available on CBP's Web site at http://addcvd.cbp.gov. AD and CV ABI administrative messages are no longer issued.
