2. CBP Lists Ports that Can Accept Type 09 Reconciliation Entries

CBP has issued a notice providing a list of ports that can accept filed type 09 Reconciliation entries. CBP notes that while the Automated Commercial System (ACS) Reconciliation Prototype is nationwide in scope and entry summaries filed at any port may be flagged for reconciliation, the type 09 Reconciliation entry, which provides the reconciled information, must be filed to a Reconciliation processing port. Each importer participating in the prototype is assigned a processing port.

The following ports can process type 09 Reconciliation entries: Boston, Champlain, Detroit, El Paso, Houston, Laredo, Portland, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Nogales, Otay Mesa/San Diego, and Pharr.

Wood packaging material info. CBP has posted information on Wood Packaging Material. CBP cites the number of noncompliance shipments for fiscal years 2007 and 2008 and provides specific examples. CBP finds unripe poppy seeds on flowers. CBP reports that agriculture specialists were recently conducting routine inspections on fresh cut flowers arriving from the Netherlands when they discovered three boxes containing Opium "poppy" pods. Application procedures for EDI, filing e-Manifests. CBP has posted instructions on how to be approved for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and how to file a truck electronic manifest via EDI. Border Patrol announces station opening in Maine. CBP has issued a news release announcing that the opening ceremony for the newly constructed Van Buren Border Patrol Station in Maine was to be held on September 25, 2008. Environment Assessment, FONSI for Tucson West. CBP has posted the final Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed SBInet Tucson West Project and the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) EA for the proposed project. CBP has also posted information on commenting on the documents and a list of libraries where the final EA and signed FONSI can be reviewed.
