The Federal Maritime Commission has issued a notice announcing the filing of Agreement No. 011223-043, an amendment to the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement. The amendment would provide authority for the members to discuss cost savings and more efficient use of vessel and equipment assets and networks. 2. DEA Interim Assessment of Annual Needs for Certain List I Chemicals
The Drug Enforcement Agency has issued a notice establishing, on an interim basis, the Assessment of Annual Needs for the List I chemicals ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, and phenylpropanolamine. 3. State Dept Maintains Designation of Certain Organizations as Foreign Terrorists
The State Department has issued a notice announcing that the Deputy Secretary of State has determined, based upon a review, that the following organizations shall be maintained as foreign terrorist organizations: Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) and Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LT), and all designated aliases. 5. Nominations Sought for Meat and Poultry Inspection Committee
The Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a news release announcing that nominations are being sought for membership on the National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI). 6. FDA Warning on Chicken Jerky Treats for Dogs from China
The Food and Drug Administration has issued a news release announcing that it continues to caution consumers about a potential association between the development of illness in dogs and the consumption of chicken jerky products. The products - also called chicken tenders, strips, or treats - are imported from China. FDA issued a cautionary warning to consumers in September 2007. 8. LA Begins Pay-Out Process to Clean Truck Program Concessionaires
The Port of Los Angeles has issued a news release announcing that it began the process of distributing an estimated $44 million in incentive checks over the coming weeks to its Clean Truck Program (CTP) concessionaires that have already committed to deploying new, privately-funded clean trucks into drayage service in advance of CTP schedule requirements.
