According to ITC, the upgraded system (referred to by ITC as "EDIS 3") features enhanced security, improved reliability and performance, easier navigation, and faster availability of documents filed within the system. The improvements will allow ITC staff to process filings more efficiently, so users will have access to documents more quickly.
Upgrade Includes RSS Feeds, Improved Search Capability, Faster Processing
EDIS 3 continues to offer the ability to submit non-confidential documents electronically and to search the electronic docket. ITC states that new features include:
&8722; RSS feeds (by subscription) for automatic notification when new documents are available for public viewing;
&8722; a more sophisticated search capability that will allow users to search on a topic (for example, "steel") to see all cases that have an association with the search term used; and
&8722; improved document processing, providing immediate notification to the filer if there are problems with a submission.
(ITC notes that users will still be able to file confidential documents (and non-confidential documents if they choose) in paper form.)
Existing Users Will Have to Change ID and Password After Log-In
ITC states that users can search public documents in the EDIS system anonymously, but those wishing to file documents must log in to the system. Existing EDIS users will be able to log in to EDIS 3 using their existing user ID and password, but will have to change it immediately after log-in. New users will be able to create a user ID and password on their first visit. The EDIS 3 system is available at http://edis.usitc.gov.
