This injury investigation is being instituted in response to a petition filed on June 30, 2009, by Sunbeam Products, Inc. dba Jarden Consumer Solutions, Boca Raton, FL.

ITC to Determine if U.S. Industry is Injured

The ITC is instituting this investigation to determine whether there is a reasonable indication that an industry in the U.S. is materially injured or threatened with material injury, or the establishment of an industry in the U.S. is materially retarded, by reason of imports from China of woven electric blankets. Such blankets are provided for in HTS subheading 6301.10.00 and are alleged to be sold in the U.S. at less than fair value.

ITC Must Reach Preliminary Injury Determination by Aug 14th

Unless the Department of Commerce extends the time for initiation, the ITC must reach a preliminary determination in antidumping investigations in 45 days or, in this case, by August 14, 2009. The ITC's views are due at Commerce within five business days thereafter, or by August 21, 2009.
