Interior Appropriations Conference Report Filed, Rule Granted
On October 28, 2009, the conference report on H.R. 2996, making appropriations for the Department of the Interior, environment, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010 (H. Rept. 111-316) was filed. In addition, the House Rules Committee granted a rule providing for consideration of the conference report to accompany H.R. 2996. Farm Bill Implementation Hearing Held in House Committee
On October 28, 2009, the House Committee on Agriculture's Subcommittee on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture held a hearing to review the implementation of the Horticulture and Organic Agriculture Title of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008.
Iran Sanctions Bill Ordered Reported by House Committee
On October 28, 2009, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs ordered reported, as amended, H.R. 2194, Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act of 2009.
Senator Appointed to China Commission
On October 28, 2009, the Chair, on behalf of the President of the Senate, and after consultation with the Republican Leader, pursuant to Public Law 106-286, appointed Senator LeMieux to serve on the Congressional-Executive Commission on the People's Republic of China.
Clean Energy Bill Hearing Continued in Senate Committee
On October 28, 2009, the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works continued hearings to examine S. 1733, to create clean energy jobs, promote energy independence, reduce global warming pollution, and transition to a clean energy economy.
