CBP Previously Disabled Air In-Bond Application Identifiers

CBP previously deployed ABI air in-bond functionality after multiple prior deployment delays. CBP subsequently disabled the application identifiers due to output message issues.

(Prior to disabling the application identifiers, CBP asked the trade to halt air in-bond transmissions until the message problem was resolved.)

ACS Air Will Use QX/WX

According to a previously issued CSMS message and attached presentation on the air in-bond program, the current QP and WP application identifiers will not be used in ACS for the air application. Instead, QX and WX will be used for the air application in ACS. QX/WX is functionally similar to QP/WP but with additional field data elements such as carrier flight number and scheduled date of arrival.

CBP also previously stated that once ACE M2.1 (e-Manifest: Air, or MMM-AIR) is deployed, all ABI in-bond functionality will be included in the QP and WP application identifiers and the QX and WX application identifiers will become obsolete.

CBP Will Notify the Trade When Definitive Date is Available

CBP states that a CSMS message will be sent out once a definitive deployment date is available.
