AMS Revises Tariff Nos for Potato Importer Assessment Rates

The Agricultural Marketing Service is issuing correcting amendments to the assessment table in its Potato Research and Promotion Plan regulations (7 CFR Part 1207) to reflect the January 1, 2009 modification of certain Harmonized Tariff Schedule numbers for imported potatoes.

Certain HTS Numbers Revised for Imported Potato Assessment

Pursuant to the January 1, 2009 modification of the HTS, AMS is revising the HTS codes in the table that appears in 7 CFR 1207.510(b)(3) (Levy of Assessments) as follows.

HTS numbers 0701.90.5010; 0701.90.5020; 0701.90.5030; and 0701.90.5040 have been deleted, and the following HTS numbers have been added:

0701.90.50150701.90.5045
0701.90.50250701.90.5055
0701.90.50350701.90.5065

(AMS notes that it has also updated Customs' name to U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 7 CFR Part 1207.)

Assessment Rate for Potato Importers, Handlers is 3 Cents/Hundredweight

The assessment rate for importers of all listed numbers, as well as handlers, is 3 cents per hundredweight, pursuant to AMS' December 2009 final rule that increased this fee.
