DDTC Updates Guidance on Expedited Defense Exports to Iran, Afghanistan

DDTC Edits Operation References, Removes Hard Copies, Adds Certification Info

DDTC has made the following substantive revisions to its guidance:

  • removed references to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and replaced it with Operation New Dawn (OND),
  • removed references to hard copy application submissions (as applications are now electronic), and
  • added information ona political contribution certification requirement under 22 CFR Part 130 for re-export supporting documentation.

(22 CFR Part 130 includes regulations on political contributions, fees and commissions. Under 22 CFR 130.9, applicants must inform DDTC as to whether the applicant or its vendors have paid, or offered or agreed to pay, in respect of any sale for which a license or approval is requested, Political contributions in an aggregate amount of $5,000 or more; or fees or commissions in an aggregate amount of $100,000 or more.)
