CBP Houston/Galveston Seaport to Allow Email Submission of Form 3171

CBP's Area Port of Houston/Galveston has issued a Public Information Notice announcing that in an attempt to streamline and facilitate the submission of CBP Form 3171 (Application-Permit-Special License-Lading-Overtime Services), the Houston/Galveston Seaport is offering the electronic submission of the CBP Form 3171 via email.

Effective October 4, 2010, CBP encourages the Houston/Galveston Seaport Trade Community to submit their CBP Form 3171 to the following email address: HOUSTON-SEAPORT3171@DHS.GOV. CBP notes that it will continue to monitor and receive CBP Form 3171’s by fax (713-454-8065) beyond October 4, 2010; however, CBP highly encourages the Trade Community to email the form.
