Information on Carrier Bond Functionality to be Delivered with M1
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS message regarding carrier bond functionality that will be delivered with the deployment of e-Manifest: Ocean and Rail (M1).

Ocean, Rail, Truck Carriers Will be Able to Designate Users of Their Type 2 Bonds
With the deployment of M1, rail, sea and truck carriers with ACE Portal Accounts will have the ability to designate which trade partners are authorized to use their type 2 custodial bond. If no in-bond authorized trade partners are identified, anyone may obligate the carrier’s custodial bond.
To Use Future Functionality, Carriers Need Portal Account and Must Verify Bond Info is Displayed
To use this functionality in the future, carriers will need to have an established ACE Portal Account and will need to verify whether bond information appears in their account.
