2011 TRQ on Dairy Products Opens January 3

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a memorandum announcing that the 2011 tariff rate quota on dairy products provided for in HTS Chapter 4, Additional U.S. Note 10 will open on January 3, 2011.

The aggregate quantity is 4,105,000 kg and the below-listed countries have the following low-duty minimum access amounts:

Australia1,016,046 kg
Belgium and Denmark (aggregated)154,221 kg

This TRQ is expected to oversubscribe at opening.

The entry summaries presented at opening moment must be presented to the ACS quota module (QUSP) no later than close of business on January 3, 2011. Entries may be submitted prior to the opening moment and shall be considered for the opening. Entries submitted prior to the opening moment will be entered in QUSP with the date and time of opening moment. Entries presented after opening moment should not be reported in ACS until the status of the opening is determined and instructions issued.

CBP advises filers that it would not be advantageous to file entries for subject merchandise utilizing the Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) as a form of payment. Filers who opt to pay their duties via ACH are locked into paying the total amount of duty for the quantity of merchandise presented for entry.
