  • GMO Regulation. EU regulations on genetically modified organisms will be discussed at the European Economic and Social Committee plenary session December 8-9, 2010 where the commission is expected to adopt an opinion on the EC proposal to overhaul current EU policy for approving genetically modified crops.
  • Illegal Timber Imports. A new regulation to prevent the sale of illegal timber in EU markets has come into force and will apply in all Member States on March 3, 2013. Regulation text available here.
  • Africa Caribbean Pacific Assembly. EU Trade Commissioner will attend the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly in the Democratic Republic of Congo on December 4, 2010 to discuss Economic Partnership Agreements, the EU’s main trade and development instrument for the ACP region.
  • Large civil aircraft trade. EU has posted certain closing comments on U.S. and third party memoranda in the Airbus-Boeing dispute (EC - Measures Affecting Trade in Large Civil Aircraft, DS316) following the first hearing.
