  • U.S.- China tire dispute. The WTO panel examining "U.S. - Measures Affecting Imports of Certain Passenger Vehicle and Light Truck Tires from China” (DS399) issued its report. The panel found that in imposing the transitional safeguards measure on September 26, 2009 on imports of subject tires from China, the U.S. did not fail to comply with its WTO obligations.
  • Agricultural Doha negotiations. WTO agriculture negotiators agree to embark on the talks’ end-game from January 17, 2011, with the aim of producing a near-final revised draft of “modalities” by the end of March and concluding the Doha Round as a whole by the end of the year.
  • General Council meeting. The WTO General Council posted the proposed agenda of its December 14-15 meeting. Among other things, the Council will discuss transparency for preferential trade arrangements, graduation of Maldives from least developed country status, the Director General's WTO accession report, etc.
