Details of Non-CPSC HTS Statistical Changes that Are Set to Take Effect
International Trade Commission sources have provided a document listing the statistical changes to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule that are scheduled to take effect January 1, 2011 (or other date as noted in document).

These changes have been approved by the Committee for Statistical Annotation of Tariff Schedules (484(f) Committee). According to ITC sources, the 484(f) Committee is responsible for considering government and private sector requests for changes at the 9th and 10th digit level for tariff numbers, their unit of quantity, and/or written description.

The following HTS changes are scheduled to take effect January 1, 2011, unless otherwise noted.
HTS Chapters 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12
The following new statistical note is being added to HTS Chapters 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12:
“For the purposes of this section, the expression “organic” refers to a fresh or processed agricultural product that is certified to the United States Department of Agriculture’ National Organic Program Regulation (7 VFR 205) or the Canadian Organic Product Regulation (SOR/206 - 338 COPR).”
