- Harmonized standards for phone chargers. The harmonized standards needed for the manufacture of data-enabled mobile phones compatible with a new common charger to be sold in the EU are now available. The harmonized standards follow a 2009 agreement between the European Commission and 14 leading mobile phone producers, including Apple, Motorola, Texas Instruments, etc.
