  • Foot and mouth disease. The European Commission has adopted urgent protection measures after a wild boar shot in Bulgaria tested positive for Foot and Mouth Disease. These measures will be discussed at the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health meeting on January 11-12, 2011.
  • Dioxin contaminated animal feed. The EC met on January 5, 2011 to discuss the monitoring of dioxins in the feed chain, oils and fats, and their byproducts. The EC states that it is considering measures for feed and food that should concern production and transport levels to be discussed at the January 11-12, 2011 meeting.
