  • GMO risk assessment. European Commission member Dalli, gave a speech to the European Parliament on risk assessment strategies for genetically modified organisms (GMOs), including ensuring that GM seeds are available for independent studies, and monitoring guidelines for GMO cultivation by companies.
  • IUU Fishing. At the 6th International Forum on Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing, European Commissioner Damanaki discussed EU's way forward to achieving zero-tolerance for IUU fishing activities, including a world-wide catch certification system and EU reform to its Common Fisheries Policy.
  • Ag market prospects. The EC has published new market forecasts for agricultural production and consumption in the EU for 2010-2020 for meat, cereals, poultry, milk, etc., which will be used in the Common Agricultural Policy post 2013 impact assessments. The report is available here.
