CPSC Announces Open Meetings with Industry Stakeholders

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has updated its list of meetings between CPSC and industry stakeholders that are open to the public, unless otherwise stated:

  • Football helmet standards. CPSC staff from Chairman Tenenbaum's office and the Office of Hazard Identification and Reduction will be attending the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) Board Meeting to discuss football helmet standards; 01/21/11-01/22/11.
  • Textiles. Directorate for Engineering Sciences and other CPSC staff will attend the ASTM International Committee D13 on Textiles Technical meetings and D13 workshop; 01/31/01-02/02/01.
  • Mattress, decking & upholstery testing. CPSC laboratory staff, EPA staff, and private sector members of the American Chemistry Council’s Biocide Panel (Dow Chemical, Troy Corporation, etc.) will meet to review the test methods that were developed several years ago by CPSC staff to assess the migration of chemicals from mattress, wood decking, and upholstered furniture materials; 01/31/11.
  • Baseball bats. Staff from Commissioner Northup's office will meet with Louisville Slugger by telephone to discuss the CPSIA; 01/21/11.
