Canadian Government Notices for Jan 20

The Government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices on January 20, 2011:

  • Chilli Powder. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Super Asia Food & Spices Limited warned the public not to consume the certain Mehran brand chili powders, product of Pakistan because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella.
  • Sheep ID tags. On January 20, 2011, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency reminded sheep owners that all animals must be identified with an approved tag before they leave their farm of origin.
  • Federal boom permits. On January 10, 2011, The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada issued a notice stating that it would grant a one-time 60 day extension to any permits issued for Federal Booms advertised on the December 10, 2010 Federal Bi-weekly for which a 120 day surplus period was granted.
