  • EU-Korea FTA. The International Trade Committee has recommended that Parliament ratify the free trade accord between the EU and South Korea which aims to eliminate 98% of import duties for certain goods over the next five years. The agreement and safeguard regulation are due to come into force in July 2011. (here).
  • Trans-European Transport Network. EU Transport Ministers held a policy debate on the review of the TEN-T trans-European transport network which is expected to be published in the summer of 2011. The network is aimed to boost economic growth, enhance EU competitiveness, etc. (here)
  • Common mobile phone chargers. The European Commission has announced that mobile phone manufacturers can proceed with required design and testing changes for chargers to ensure that compatible phones are safe and interoperable. New common chargers will be introduced to the EU market in the course of 2011. (here)
  • Anti-fraud network. Anti-fraud experts from the EU's 27 national tax administrations convened to launch the Eurofisc network's operational work to enhance cooperation in combating organized VAT and carousel fraud. (here)
