  • Transparency mechanism for RTAs. The Negotiating Group on Rules has started its review of the WTO transparency mechanism for regional trade agreements (RTAs) by considering two proposals: one from the U.S. for the consideration of all RTAs in a single WTO Committee, and one from Ecuador for procedural adjustments to the mechanism.   • General Council 2010 report. The General Council issued an annual report covering its 2010 activities, including its work under the Doha Work Program, Trade Negotiations Committee, Transparency for Preferential Trade Arrangements, etc. (here)
  • Waivers granted by General Council. The General Council has provided a list of waivers it granted in 2010, as well as waivers previously granted and still in force in 2010. (here)
  • China-New Zealand FTA. The WTO has posted questions and answers on a free trade agreement between China and New Zealand. Among other things, China and New Zealand state that their FTA provides for comprehensive tariff elimination. By 2016, 100% of tariff lines and 100% of goods imported from China to New Zealand will be tariff-free. By 2019, 96% of goods imported from New Zealand to China will be tariff-free. (here)
