The Government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices on February 17, 2011:

  • Garments with outer layer of cellular plastic. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued Memorandum D10-14-59 regarding the tariff classification of garments that have an outer layer made up of a textile fabric, which has been impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with cellular plastics, where the textile layer faces the exterior.   • Seed potato. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has completed all potato cyst nematode (PCN) soil sampling and testing of the 2010 seed potato crop and no PCN was detected. (here).
  • Restraint systems and booster seats. In the Canada Gazette dated February 16, 2011, the Minister of Health annexed Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety standards for restraint systems and booster seats for motor vehicles (here).
  • Recalls. Rechargeable batteries sold with certain Slim and SecureTM video monitors. (02-17-11). Summer infant video baby monitors with electrical cords. (02-17-11). SNIGLAR full-sized crib (joint recall with IKEA, Health Canada, and the US CPSC. (02-17-11).
