  • $2K fine for failing to deliver imported meat product. CFIA reports that it has fined Les Aliments Rose Hill Inc. for failing to deliver, as soon as possible, a meat product, in its imported condition, to a registered establishment for inspection by an inspector, contrary to subsection 9(2) of the Meat Inspection Act .   • Inspection of onions, potatoes, tomatoes for export. CFIA has posted regulatory changes for requesting the inspection of onions, potatoes or field tomatoes for export to the United States or Puerto Rico, stating that the request must be in writing on an agency form. (here)
  • Quebec border changes. CBSA states that it will be making some changes to its border operations across Canada to ensure maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness. In the province of Quebec, changes include two port closures, three locations with reduced hours, and four locations where in-land services will be transferred to a nearby CBSA office. (02/16/11)
