CBP Announces Harmonized System Update (Includes Cotton Fee)

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS message announcing recent changes in Harmonized System Update 1105. This update contains 26,044 Automated Broker Interface records and 4,703 harmonized tariff records.

This update includes changes to cotton fees, which were amended by the Agricultural Marketing Service's final rule published on August 31, 2011 in the Federal Register and which take effect on September 30, 2011. These changes can be found on pages 54078 -- 54093, within the section titled, "Cotton Board Rules and Regulations: Adjusting Supplemental Assessments on Imports".

Adjustments required by the verification of the 2011 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) are also included.

The modified records are currently available to all ABI participants and can be retrieved electronically via the procedures indicated in the CATAIR.
