COAC to Meet on ACE, Broker Revision, Accounts, Land Border, Etc. on Oct 4

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is announcing that the Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (COAC) will meet on October 4, 2011 in El Paso, TX from 1 pm to 6 pm.

Discussion on Next Steps for Accounts, Broker Revision, Land Border Security, Etc.

At the October 4 meeting, the COAC will review and discuss next steps and formulate recommendations on the following four issues:

  • the work of the Global Supply Chain Security: Land Border Security Initiatives Subcommittee
  • the work of the Role of the Broker, a Broker Revision Project
  • The Center of Excellence and Expertise (CEE) Pilot, Account Executive Pilots and Work of the Simplified Entry and Financial Processing Work Group
  • the work of the One U.S. Government at the Border Subcommittee

(Prior to the COAC taking action on these four issues, members of the public will have an opportunity to provide comments orally or, for comments submitted electronically during the meeting, by reading the comments into the record.)

Gov’t Updates on ACE, Air Cargo Security, Etc. Expected

The COAC will also receive an update on the following CBP initiatives and Subcommittee issues at the meeting:

  • Update on the Work of Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)
  • Update on the Work of the Air Cargo Security Subcommittee
  • Update on the Work of the Antidumping and Countervailing Duty (AD/CVD) Subcommittee
  • Update on the Work of the Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement Subcommittee

Those who plan to attend the October 4 COAC meeting onsite should either register either online here or by e-mail to tradeevents@dhs.gov by close-of-business on September 27, 2011.

Comments due by September 27

CBP is also inviting written public comment on the issues being considered by COAC. Comments must be submitted no later than September 27, 2011 and identified by USCBP-2011-0035.
