The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has updated the following PPQ electronic manuals as of September 21, 2011 (since the last update on September 6):

  • Animal Product Manual - Updated for Animal Waste; Blood; Bones; Casings; Hides; Organs; Poultry; Passenger Baggage, Animal Names; Index; Glossary; Etc. 09/07/11, 09/12/11, 09/20/11. (here)
  • CITES I-II-II Timber Species Manual - has been updated to add the language requirement for CITES documents and to update the list of CITES designated staff at PPQ CITES ports. 09/20/11 (here)
  • FAVIR database and Fruits and Vegetables Manual - Updated to remove ‘mango’ as an admissible commodity from Anguilla and St. Martin into the USVI; for France and Spain, added language regarding the lack of a preclearance program for apples (FR, SP) and pears (FR) (no import permits will be issued or commodities allowed entry into the US until a preclearance program is established); added the country of Kosovo and admissible commodities; for Mexico, removed two papaya orchards from Chiapas, Mexico. 09/15/11 (here)
  • Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual - Updated Table 3-75 Dried fruits (diced, sectioned, segmented, sliced, or whole—with or without seeds) to add mangoes. 09/12/11 (here)
  • Seeds Not for Planting Manual - Updated to add cottonseed (Gossypium spp.) not for planting from approved areas of Mexico (State of Baja, State of Sinaloa, State of Sonora). 09/13/11 (here)
  • Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual - Updated to add IMCO Agro Industries, Ltd., to the USDA approved heat treatment facilities for niger seed. Also revised are the list of laboratories authorized to issue seed analysis certificates as listed in Appendix D: Approved Establishments. 09/07/11, 09/08/11 (here)
