CITA Receives DR-CAFTA "Commercial Availability" Request for Certain Crepe Fabric

The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements has issued a notice announcing that interested entities can submit Offers to Supply by October 11, 2011, or provide a Rebuttal to an offer by October 17, regarding a "commercial availability" request it received under the DR-CAFTA, on behalf of Hansae Co., Ltd.

  • alleging that certain cotton/nylon/spandex raschel knit open work crepe fabric classifiable under HTS subheading 6005.32.00 and 6005.34.00 cannot be supplied by the domestic industries or Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, or Honduras industries in commercial quantities in a timely manner; and
  • requesting that CITA consider allowing these fabrics to be sourced from outside the DR-CAFTA region without destroying eligibility for DR-CAFTA treatment of certain apparel.

Offers to Supply Fabrics & Rebuttal Submissions

Those parties wishing to submit a response with an offer to supply the subject fabrics or provide a rebuttal submission to a response should follow the revised procedures detailed in CITA's modified final procedures for DR-CAFTA commercial availability requests.
