Certifying for Release on an ACE Entry Summary
Filers can certify for release on ACE Entry Summaries as they can with ACS Entry Summaries. Since the Entry (cargo release) process is still maintained in the ACS system, the filer will receive an ABI response to their ACE Entry Summary via ACE and an ABI response to their Entry via ACS.
The filer has the option of filing one transaction by certifying for release on the ACE Entry Summary OR filing two transactions - one to ACS for the entry and one to ACE for the entry summary. With either option, the ABI ACE Entry Summary response will be generated by ACE and the ABI entry response will be generated by ACS.
Receiving Info Using an ACE Entry Summary Query
The ABI ACE Entry Summary Query was made available with the deployment of ACE Entry Summary functionality in 2009, and can be used only for ACE Entry Summaries. The ABI response message will be returned to the filer via ACE.
This query provides more information than the ABI Entry Summary Query used for ACS Entry Summaries. The ABI ACS Entry Summary Query can be used for entry summaries filed in both ACE and ACS. The ABI response message will be returned to the filer via ACS. Since the information returned in this ABI response is more limited, filers may benefit from using the ACE Entry Summary Query for all entry summaries filed in ACE.
