The investigation is based on a complaint filed by S3 Graphics Co., Ltd., of the Grand Cayman Islands, British West Indies, and S3 Graphics, Inc. of Fremont, CA, on September 22, 2011, which was amended on October 14, 2011. The complaint alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the United States and sale of certain electronic devices with graphics data processing systems, components thereof, and associated software that infringe patents asserted by the complainants. The complainants request that the ITC issue an exclusion order and a cease and desist order. The ITC has identified Apple Inc., a/k/a Apple Computer, of Cupertino, CA, as the respondent in this investigation.
