The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has updated the following PPQ electronic manuals dated through October 31, 2011 (since the last update on October 24):

  • Miscellaneous and Processed Product Import Manual. Revision to Table 3-8 Avocado—fresh Mexican avocados with seeds removed change: language for the directions in the fourth cell, fourth column (Then:) has been changed to “Refer to FAVIR” (10/31/11) (here)
  • Animal Product Manual - (1) Revised to change Chapter 3-13: Swine; replace pages 3-13-41,42, and Appendix E: Approved Establishments; replace pages E-1-22,28,43,45,53 (10/31/11).   • Fruits and Vegetables Manual and FAVIR database - Updated to clarify the import requirements for Bactrocera invadens country/host commodities (Federal Order issued May 08, 2009). Changes were made to the following countries and commodities: (1) Banana fruit from Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Ghana, Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, (2) Peppers from Ghana, and (3) Lemon and sour lime from Liberia. Also the import requirements for fruits and vegetables from Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) into Guam and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) were corrected.
