Canadian Government Notices for Nov 9-10
The Government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices for Nov 9-10, 2011 (note that some will also be given separate headlines):

- Technical amendments to customs tariff. The Governor General in Council has issued two orders which it says make technical amendments to the schedule to the Customs Tariff 2011-2 with minimal or no tariff implications. The first order implements a number of changes in classification that have occurred since the 2007 Harmonized System review changes were implemented and amends some supplementary notes to reflect changes to classification and tariff item numbering. - Food inspection amendments. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) posted three approved regulatory amendments regarding food inspection: Regulations Amending the Meat Inspection Regulations of 1990, Regulations Amending Certain Regulations Administered and Enforced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency; and Certain Fees Relating to Export Certificates Remission Order. - Living plant pest imports. CFIA issued a notice to importers clarifying the facility certification process under its 2010 Containment Standards for Facilities Handling Plant Pests. (here)
- Transport of dangerous goods. The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations have been amended regarding the exemption recently extended to all persons handling, offering for transport or transporting up to 150 kg of certain dangerous goods (e.g., flammable liquids) (here)
- Beef and veal TRQ. Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) issued a notice on the beef and veal tariff rate quota (TRQ) inviting applications for quota shares for the period Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2012. (here)
- Seizure of counterfeit money. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced a seizure of counterfeit Canadian money in a parcel from Cameroon destined to Canada via France. (here)
- Product recalls. Mastercraft Digital Clamp Meter manufactured in China. (here)
