CBP Issues Draft CATAIR Chapter/Message Set for Simplified Entry Pilot
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS notice that contains the draft Customs and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR) Chapter and message set for CBP's test of the simplified entry capability in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). CBP states that it should be noted that this chapter/message set is in draft form, and it does not reflect a final document. The draft CATAIR Chapter/Message Set is available here. (This notice also provides a reminder that the deadline for submission of applications to participate in the Simplified Entry Test is November 17, 2011 at 11:59pm. Applicants must submit an email to cbpsimplifiedprocess@dhs.gov with the subject heading "Simplified Entry Participant Request." The email must also include information regarding estimated volume of entries anticipated to be filed under Simplified Entry and the identity of the ports where filings are likely to occur.
