HTS Tables in AES Updated for Textile-Bottomed Footwear Changes

Census has issued an AES broadcast announcing that, effective immediately, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) tables in the Automated Export System have been updated to reflect changes for textile-bottomed footwear (in chapter 64) made by Presidential Proclamation 8742.

(According to Presidential Proclamation 8742, the tariff changes for certain rubber- or plastic-soled footwear to which a layer of textile materials has been added (textile-bottomed footwear) are effective for goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after December 3, 2011. Changes included a new Additional Note and new tariff breakouts for most affected footwear that moves from HTS 6405 to 6402 or 6404 as a result of the new note. AESDirect Updated, AESPcLink Users Must Update AESDirect Code Tables

The AESDirect program has been updated with these changes and all AESPcLink users must update their AESDirect code tables to reflect the changes in HTS.
