2012 TRQ on Ethyl Alcohol Opened Jan 3

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a memorandum announcing that the 2012 TRQ for qualifying ethyl alcohol from Caribbean countries and Insular Possessions as provided for in HTS Chapter 99, Subchapter I opened on January 3, 2012.

The global low-duty quantity is 906,900,000 gallons, while Costa Rica has a low-duty quantity of 31,000,000 gallons and El Salvador has a low-duty quantity of 14,529,508 gallons. If Costa Rica or El Salvador fills their allocation, any further imports will be charged to the global restraint limit while a balance is available.
