CBP Renames Pharma & Electronics Industry Centers to Show Scope

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has revised several documents posted on its website concerning the Industry Integration Centers for Pharmaceuticals and Electronics, in order to reflect their product scope. The center for Pharmaceuticals is now referred to as the Industry Integration Center for Pharmaceuticals, Health and Chemicals Center for Excellence and Expertise (CEE). The center for Electronics is now referred to as the Information Technology and Consumer Electronics CEE.

(In October 2011, CBP permanently established the Pharmaceuticals and Electronics CEEs, which had previously functioned as pilots. CBP sources had indicated that the agency was working to expand the Pharmaceutical center's scope to cover health and chemical devices, and the Electronics center's scope to cover consumer electronics and information technology.
