CBP Announces HS Update 1201 on WCO Tariff Changes

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS message announcing the issuance of Harmonized System Update 1201 on changes to the 2012 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). This update contains 9,350 ABI records and 2,155 harmonized tariff records.

Changes Include Presidential Proclamation for 2012 Version of HTS

Amendments include Modifications to the HTS under Section 1206 of the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988. USITC Publication 4276 (Annex to Presidential Proclamation, available here) was signed on December 29, 2011 to amend the HTS for the World Customs Organization-recommended tariff changes for 2012. Adjustments required by the authentication of the 2012 Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) are also included.
