APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Feb 22-23
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has issued emails announcing the following changes to various Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals through February 23, 2012 (since the last ITT update for February 13-16, 2012):

- Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual. The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual: 1) Chapter 1 Introduction Page 1-1 change: changed language in first paragraph after "Purpose" heading and "Scope" heading 2) Chapter 1 Introduction Page 1-3 change: corrected references to the number of appendixes in the manual 3) Chapter 1 Introduction Page 1-4 change: changed language in third bullet at the top of the page 4) Table 3-186 Locator change: “sticks” and “branches” have been added to the first column (If the product is:); fifth cell 5) Table 3-199 Wood packaging materials (WPM) NOT U.S. returned, NOR DoD sponsored, NOR in transit, and if of foreign origin, that origin is OTHER THAN Canada change: language has been added to the beginning of footnote #2 (02/23/12) (here)
- Fruits and Vegetables Manual. The online version of the Fruits and Vegetables Manual and the FAVIR database have been updated to add irradiation (T105-a-2) as an approved treatment for grapes from South Africa. (02/23/12) (here)
- Manual for Agricultural Clearance. The online version of the Manual for Agricultural Clearance has been revised to update the phone numbers for Westover Joint Air Reserve Base, Chicopee, MA, and Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, MA. (02/22/12) (here)
- Animal Product Manual. The following changes have been made to the online version of the Animal Product Manual: 1) Pet Food, Livestock, Poultry, and Aquaculture Page 3-18-1 change: chapter table of contents has been updated. 2) Pet Food, Livestock, Poultry, and Aquaculture Page 3-18-3 change: language has been corrected.
