APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Feb 27- Mar 2

• Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual. The online version of the Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual has been revised to update the address for Hyland Seed Quality Laboratory in the list of laboratories authorized to issue seed analysis certificates. (03/01/12) (here)
• Treatment Manual. The online version of the Treatment Manual has been updated: 1) Chapters and pages 2-4-2, 2-6-2, 2-7-1, 2-9-1: Policy Change effective March 01, 2012: added an Important note alerting the reader that APHIS will no longer provide equipment to APHIS employees to monitor commercial fumigations. This change includes, but is not limited to, colorimetric tubes and gas analyzers. The commercial fumigator is still required monitor to its own equipment's gas concentration levels. 2) Page 3-3-11: added Nojoxten data logger for hot water treatment facilities 3) Page H-62 and H-63: updated equipment information for Oakton, Davis, and Cooper-Atkins thermometers 4) Various pages throughout the manual: updated Riverdale phone numbers. • Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual. The following changes have been made to the online version of the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Import Manual: 1) Table 3-183 Wood and wood products treated with preservatives or having received universal treatment options change: action has been changed from "PROHIBIT ENTRY" to "INSPECT and RELEASE" in the last column (Then:); sixth cell 2) Table 3-207 Pine logs from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island change: table reference has been changed in the fourth column (Then:); first and fourth cells 3) NEW Table 3-221 Pine logs from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island--pine shoot beetle requirements change: this table has been added to the manual. • Plants for Planting Manual. The interim edition of the Plants for Planting Manual has been updated, transmittal 02/2012, to revise the Other Requirements for seeds of Prunus spp. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, are on pages 3-353 through 3-356. (02/27/12) (here)
